60163 Tornado
Tornado has now been fully re-assembled and outshopped in early BR Brunswick green, but its mainline return has been delayed after the A1 Trust and West Coast Railways were unable to reach an agreement for the A1 to work West Coast services. It will now be back in fare-paying mainline work on June 18th, on the Canterbury Tornado. In the meantime it will be on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway from May 26th to June 5th.

1014 County of Glamorgan
New Build Steam has a bit slow to pick this up, despite the group’s monthly updates, but the County project is being hindered by delays to the delivery of the locomotive’s wheels. More positively, they have made good progress on the design work ¬†necessary to reduce the locomotive’s height to comply with Network Rail’s modern loading gauge, and work on many individual components continues to progress.

45551 The Unknown Warrior
The Patriot project are seeking to raise funds to purchase and refurbish motion components salvaged from the Jubilee class locomotives 45562 Alberta and 45697 Achilles at the time of their scrapping. The parts are identical to those required for the Patriot and so will represent a cost saving to the project if they can be obtained.

72010 Hengist
The EGM of the Hengist project was held as outlined in the previous update, and resulted in a decision to elect a new Council of Management to take charge of the build. Further to this, many decisions appear to be up for review and discussion between the EGM and the AGM, which is due in September.
