This is the very last of the round-up articles planned for the blog – they were intended to end a few posts ago, but more projects kept cropping up and it’s entirely possible some have still gone without comment. Please flag them in the comments if so.

As with 82045, this project aims to recreate an unglamorous standard class locomotive that will nonetheless be useful on a preserved railway, and like the several GWR projects it is using a ‘donor’ locomotive to do so. The new engine will take the remains of ex-Barry 2MT mogul 78059 (which already has several sister engines in preservation) and convert it into its tank engine equivalent, the 2MT standard 2-6-2T. It will be given the ‘next’ number from the original class’s run, 84030.
